Occupational Therapy

Michelle Matteoli Adams, OTR/L, IMC
Owner/Founder

Michelle Matteoli Adams, OTR/L, IMC is the owner and founder of Pediatric Therapy Solutions. She is a licensed Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of Florida with Honors in 2001 with her Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy. Michelle has extensive experience working with pediatric clients with a variety of diagnoses, and tailors her plan of care specifically to each client and their unique needs, oftentimes working collaboratively with other professional therapists included in the child’s treatment plan. Michelle has a comprehensive background and advanced training in sensory dysfunction, sensory integration, pediatric motor development, and related disorders. She is a certified provider of Interactive Metronome, an evidence-based training tool that is proven to improve cognition, attention, focus, memory, speech/language, executive functioning, comprehension as well as motor and sensory skills. In addition to treating clients at Pediatric Therapy Solutions, Michelle currently serves as a fieldwork coordinator for various universities around the United States, including but not limited to, the University of Florida, Tufts University, NOVA Southeastern University, and the State College of Florida Certified Occupational Assistant Program. She has volunteered with the Family Network on Disabilities of Manatee and Sarasota, Inc., as a board member, newsletter editor, and fundraiser for both Manatee and Sarasota counties. Michelle co-founded B.I.A.S.D., Biological Interventions for the Autistic Spectrum Disorders, a support group for parents of children on the autism spectrum.

Annette Witte-Fuchs, OTR/L

Annette Witte-Fuchs, OTR/L, is a St. Louis native who relocated to Florida in 1987 upon graduating from Meramec Community College with her AAS degree in Occupational Therapy. She worked for six years as a COTA before deciding to further her education. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996 from Barry University with a Bachelor of Science degree in OT. She studied for two years in the Nova Southeastern OT Doctoral Program. Annette has worked in a wide variety of pediatric settings, including head injury, hospital, mental health and school settings. Some highlights include five years as a COTA at Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Bayside psychiatric unit; OT at Fruitville Elementary working with the autism and gifted programs; and OT at Baudhin Preschool in Fort Lauderdale, specialized school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. In the summer of 1997, Annette was a practicum therapist at Camp Avanti, the sensory camp founded by Patricia and Julie Wilbarger. Annette also has a certificate in Art and Healing from Ringling School of Art and is an Expressive Arts Practitioner. Memberships include AOTA and Sarasota County Medical Alliance Foundation. Kristen Valenti, OTR/L

Kristen Valenti, OTR/L, graduated from Florida State University with her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Child Sciences and Child Development. She then graduated with her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Kristen is a creative and compassionate therapist, drawn to the field of occupational therapy because of her strong desire to work with children, especially those with varying exceptionalities. She has experience treating children in the school setting and pediatric outpatient setting. She has also treated adults in the acute unit at a local hospital, all while using evidence-based practice to guide interventions. Kristen loves working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and a variety of other diagnoses. Kristen enjoys finding creative ways to customize each treatment session to match each child’s personality and incorporate their individual passions. Susan Del Gallo, OTR/L

Susan Del Gallo, OTR/L has recently relocated to Florida following 30 years of beautiful New England foliage and snowstorms, but is quickly adjusting to the wonderful Florida sunshine. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with honors from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. She has advanced training in Sensory Integration and is Sensory Integration and Praxis Test Certified. Susan has worked exclusively in pediatrics for 30 years in a variety of settings, including being a State of Connecticut Birth to Three provider, pediatric outpatient clinics, hospitals, home care agencies, and public school settings. She has extensive experience working in schools using Scientific Research Based Interventions and therapeutic experience with a wide variety of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Genetic Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities, and Dysgraphia as well as visual perceptual, fine motor, and sensory processing deficits. Angelena Rosa, M.S., CCC-SLP

Angelena Rosa received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Psychology with a Minor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Florida. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Angelena provides therapeutic assessments and interventions utilizing evidence-based practice in PROMPT, Oral Placement Therapy, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (Picture Exchange Communication System, Proloquo2Go, Dynovox), Lindamood-Bell, DIR/FloorTime, Pivotal Response Training, Social Thinking, and Theory of Mind. Her therapeutic background includes specialization with a wide range of diagnoses and communication disorders including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger’s Syndrome, Non-verbal Learning Disorder, Apraxia, Articulation/Phonological Disorders, Behavioral/Sensory Based Feeding Disorders, Pragmatic Language Disorder, Expressive/Receptive Language Delays, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. Mary Williams, M.A., CCC-SLP

Mary Williams is a licensed speech-language pathologist. She graduated in 2005 from University of Central Florida with her Bachelors in Communication Disorders. She graduated in 2008 from Appalachian State University with her Masters in Communication Disorders. After graduating, she worked in an outpatient pediatric facility in Melbourne, Florida. She has worked with children with a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Apraxia of Speech, Articulation Disorders, Expressive/Receptive Language Delays, Cerebral Palsy (CP), and Down Syndrome. Mary has training in an array of treatment modalities and techniques, including the Beckman Oral-Motor Protocol. Paola Codol, M.S., CCC-SLP, C/NDT

Paola Codol graduated from the University of South Florida, Tampa in 1989 and dedicated her career to helping those who suffer from oral motor deficiencies that affect speech and feeding development. She received her NDT/Bobath Certification (Neuro Developmental Treatment) in 1995, which directly impacted her approach to treating her patients with regard to oral motor issues, swallowing function, postural stability, and sensory motor function. To enhance and facilitate oral motor function through these methods has allowed Paola to achieve positive results, even in the most difficult cases. In 1990, Paola created and directed the Speech and Hearing Center at East Pasco Medical Center Florida Hospital, Zephyrhills, Florida, where she treated swallowing and speech and language disorders. Holly Aide M.S., CF-SLP

Holly Aide received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. She has experience working with pediatrics with various diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Articulation/Phonological Disorder, Pragmatic Language Disorder, and Receptive/Expressive Language Delays. She has also treated adults in the acute care setting with Swallowing, Cognitive-Linguistic, Speech & Language Disorders. Holly’s passion has always been to work with children and to utilize the Child-Centered Approach; making therapy sessions more naturalistic for the child by focusing on their individual needs. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA Therapy)

Michelle Chrzczonowski-Bischofberger, BCBA

Michelle Chrzczonowski-Bischofberger is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with close to 20 years of experience. She graduated from Florida State University where she completed both her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Development and Psychology and a Masters in Science degree in Psychology with an Emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has provided services to individuals with autism, anxiety and related disabilities in homes, schools, and clinics and enjoys working collectively with an interdisciplinary team to provide the best evidence-based treatment approaches. Michelle specializes in early intervention, augmentative communication (ECS/Proloquo2go), Theory of Mind, Social Thinking and social skills training for children and teens, Zones of Regulation, classroom inclusion, toilet training, and behavior acquisition and reduction programs to improve the quality of life not only for the client but their families. She has collected and analyzed data on various research topics and presented workshops on instructional methods and behavioral intervention at local, statewide, and national conferences. Michelle has a love and passion for the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and helping families to incorporate the principles of ABA into daily routines to create a better life! Michelle is proficient in development and implementation of functional behavior assessments and support plans for individuals across the lifespan. In addition, Michelle can provide training to faculty and parents or caregivers as well as instructional workshops on skills development, engineering the home for success, and communication development. Danielle Walsh, Office Administrator

Danielle Walsh has lived in Sarasota her entire life. Her family is originally from Connecticut. She has an 8-year-old daughter named Lydia who is the light of her life! Danielle been in customer service for 13 years and management for the past 3 years. Prior to that she scheduled and obtained authorizations for 13 orthopedic specialists in 3 locations. Danielle’s passion has always been women and children’s health and wellness.
